Four iPhone security settings worth reviewing

Review iOS updates, your passcode, Apple Account two-factor authentication, and sharing permissions with a practical iPhone security checklist.

Review software updates

Open Settings → General → Software Update. Review available updates and automatic-update options. Avenvale records that you reviewed a setting; it cannot confirm your update status from a web browser.

Use a device passcode

Open Settings → Face ID & Passcode, or Touch ID & Passcode on supported models. Keep the passcode private. Do not type it into a cybersecurity chat, an email, or a website offering to check your device.

Check your Apple Account

In Settings, select your name, then Sign-In & Security. Review two-factor authentication and your trusted contact details. Review the devices on your Apple Account as a separate step. Apple provides the current instructions for each software version.

Review what you share

On supported iPhones, Safety Check is under Settings → Privacy & Security. Read Apple's guidance before changing access or sharing. Completing a checklist is useful maintenance; it is not proof that an iPhone is free from compromise.
